Disposing of restricted fruit and vegetables when travelling
You must eat or dispose of any restricted fruit, vegetables, plants and plant products in the quarantine bins provided at key entry points to South Australia and the Riverland Pest Free Area when you are:
- Travelling into South Australia from interstate
- Travelling into the Riverland from within South Australia
Quarantine bins are clearly signed and located across the state at road entry points, airports and rail terminals.
Your vehicle will be checked for at risk items
When travelling into entry points of South Australia and the Riverland your vehicle will be checked for restricted fruit, vegetables, plants and plant products at:
- quarantine stations, located on highways at entry points into the state
- random roadblocks located after quarantine bins across the state.

Zero tolerance measures are in place at the Yamba Quarantine Station and at random roadblocks.
You will be fined if you are caught with restricted fruit and vegetables.
